Setting the context
For most students and working professionals living away from home…
tiffin services fill the gap between cooking and eating out — delivering home-style food
But when that consistency breaks, there's no backup plan.
Going Deeper into the World of Tiffin Services
People discover tiffin providers almost entirely through word of mouth - a watchman, a coworker, a neighbor. There's no real discovery layer today
Once discovered, customers evaluate providers on 6 recurring factors
The research highlighted dissatisfaction across all six, but not consistently. Experiences varied widely depending on the service a user chose
At the time, this led me to believe that discoverability was the core issue.
But was it the main problem?
To validate this, I moved in with college mates who relied on tiffin services in order to understand more about this domain
I mapped out the journey of a user after they had already chosen a tiffin provider.
What stood out quickly was that most of the effort came after subscribing.
